CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad (“CIMB-Principal”) has appointed Patrick Chang as Chief Investment Officer, Malaysia. In this role, Mr. Chang will now oversee the investment team in Malaysia and to continue to deliver consistent investment performance. Patrick Chang brings with him an extensive 15 years of experience in asset management backed by numerous ASEAN awards from a Malaysian pension fund in 2013 and 2015. He was previously the Head of ASEAN Equities at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Malaysia where he was overseeing ASEAN equities for both Malaysian and offshore clients from 2012. Prior to that Patrick served as Senior Vice President for CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad where he specialized in ASEAN and a specialist in Asia ex Japan funds. During his tenure with CIMB-Principal, he contributed to the development of the CIMB-Principal’s ASEAN equity team research structure in 2007 which now forms part of the regional equity strategy. He also worked as a portfolio manager at Riggs and Co International Private Banking in London specializing in managing global ETF portfolios.
Patrick graduated with MSc Finance from City University Business School and also has BSc Accounting and Financial Analysis from University of Warwick, UK. He is also a former Chevening Scholar.
